I have more than 30 years experience of teaching and I am a qualified teacher with the Certificate of Education F. E. I am specialising in teaching adults general French at all levels and teenagers GCSE to prepare for their exams.

As a doctor with a busy and unpredictable schedule, I knew learning French would be a difficult task to juggle. I was very fortunate to come across Sophie’s profile online providing 1-1 personalised virtual sessions from a native French speaker with over 20 years in helping students achieve their learning goals. Personally, I wanted to learn French in order to prepare for the Office of Quebec French Language Test (OQLF) to practice Medicine in French speaking Canada. Sophie had ample experience in preparing students for all types of internationally recognised French language assessments such as the DELF, GCSE and A Level and she went out of her way to find resources for my specific test. In addition, Sophie was able to offer flexible sessions to suit my schedule, with well-planned lessons covering French grammar followed by useful listening, reading comprehension and writing exercises to consolidate my learning and enhance my French vocabulary. Sophie was able to teach formal and informal French writing and speaking skills which I found useful when addressing colleagues in a business setting.
Overall Sophie has been an excellent teacher who is patient regardless of their prior knowledge and, is able to increase their confidence in all aspects of speaking, listening, reading and writing French. I would highly recommend Sophie to anyone wishing to learn French, whether you are a beginner (like me) or want to polish your existing skills, Sophie will take care of you.

My little boy has been having lessons with Sophie for a couple of months now and he has really enjoyed them. Sophie is encouraging, kind and patient in the lessons and this has really helped my little boy to feel comfortable to learn a new language. He is also starting to feel confident to try and converse in French and I feel that his progress has come a long way in such a short amount of time. I’ve enjoyed listening to him singing French songs and his pronunciation is coming along nicely, something I think comes from French being Sophie’s native language.

Les chats de madame sont devenus bourgeois.
Jadis ils avaient peur du chien qui aboyait, ils couvraient leur oreilles avec leurs pattes.
Aujourd’hui, ils se promenent le long du trottoir, bras dessus, bras dessous, le nez en l’air.
Ravis d’habiter le quartier latin de Cheadle, une rangée d’arbres, Ca s’appelle Paris.
Les chats de madame sont devenus bourgeois.
Jadis, ils pretendaient qu’ils connaissaient un chat qui connaissait un autre chat qui attrapaient les souris de l’homme qui peignait les lignes blanches sur l’herbe du stade de foot avoisinant.
Aujourd’hui, ils prétendent qu’ils connaissent un chat qui connais un chat qui attrape les souris du maire et de tous les fonctionnaires.
L’apres-midi, ils s’allongent sur une chaise longue cramoisie sous les rayons chauds deu beau soleil.
En attendant la bonne qui arrive de Bramhall afin de leur préparer un homard et un faisan.

My daughter and I have now had French tuition with Sophie for about 5 months. Sophie is a very bubbly and personable tutor who is passionate about teaching her native language. She tailors lessons and learning approach to meet individual objectives, she is always prepared and punctual and she makes lessons fun. Thanks to Sophie, French grammar and pronunciation do not seem to be as hard as they were 5 months ago. I have made a great progress with my French and would definitely recommend Sophie as a tutor.
